About the role:   

As a Specification Consultant, you will be responsible for managing and growing relationships with New Zealand's leading architects and designers in the Upper South Island region, with a primary focus on residential projects. Your role will involve proactively identifying new projects, maintaining existing relationships with specifiers, and tracking projects from specification through to product selection.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key architects and designers in the Upper South Island region.

  • Proactively seek out new project opportunities and track them through to specification.

  • Provide expert technical support to architects and designers, ensuring they have the information they need.

  • Manage a strong database of loyal architects and designers while also building new connections.

  • Travel 1-2 days per week to key regions, including Manawatu, Wellington, Tasman, Marlborough, and Canterbury

This is a full-time role working Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

The ideal Person:

  • Quick learner with strong IT skills and a solid understanding of the architecture and design industry

  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a growth mindset

  • Passionate about timber and its applications in architecture and design.

  • Strong technical knowledge comprehension; familiarity with building codes is a plus.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of providing knowledgeable guidance for smooth project progression.

  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask while meeting deadlines.
