Minimum Wage Increase as Planned
Employees working from home or work must be paid at least the new minimum wage for each hour they work.
If the Employer is unable to process the increase in the pay system due to lockdown requirements, this can be backdated at a later date.
If no work in being performed, the Employer is able to fall back on the Wage Subsidy, they are required to make their best endeavours to pay at least 80% of their pre-COVID income, and at least must pass on the full subsidy amount. If no work is being performed there is no requirement for the Employer to pay minimum wage.
