Driving Safety at Work: How to Monitor Employee Licenses in New Zealand

Over the recent months, we have noticed numerous incidents where clients' Employees have failed to disclose that their driver’s licenses are either expired or disqualified. This poses numerous risks to the Employer including no insurance cover. Registering your company with the New Zealand Transport Agency you to conduct driver checks on any Employees that you gain consent from and has recently become a free service.  

You will need consent from each Employee before checking their driver's license status and history. Within the driver check platform, you are able to create a list of all employees’ driver information which you can revisit at a later date with ease. We must emphasise the importance of maintaining up-to-date information on your Employees' driving status to ensure safety and to stay informed, it’s also a great time to check this information before the end-of-year Christmas Shutdown.
